RSS Warehouse Manager
While the word “Manager” indicates that the person is in charge of the whole Warehouse operation, the RSS Warehouse Manager is, in fact, only in control of the Warehouse operations which pertain to the Warehouse/County partnership. It is expected that the Warehouse will need to continue their business as usual. To minimize the impact on the Warehouse partner, the RSS Warehouse Manager will be tasked with the responsibility of the sustainment of the RSS Warehouse Operation.
This means that they will:
- Sign for any inventory which enters the premises on behalf of the Counties involved
- Oversee all County-appointed staff
- Serve as the Liaison between the Warehouse and local Emergency Operations Centers/Departmental Operations Centers
- Serve as the Point of Contact for the State Warehouse
The RSS Warehouse Manager will be the first person to arrive and will begin to work with the host Warehouse to identify working spaces and inventory storage spaces. A field operations guide will be given to this person, which guides them through the steps necessary to set-up the Warehouse. In some instances, equipment will be brought by this person. In other instances, a crew will accompany this person to address the set-up of the work area designated for the County.
This person is the ONLY person on site who can request additional resources through the local Emergency Operations Center and/or Departmental Operations Center.
Since this person has accountability over the inventory delivered to the Warehouse they will almost always be a County-designated employee.
