employees who normally perform Warehouse functions on an everyday basis assist the County Public Health Department by doing their normal job. There are a few differences, usually relating to how personnel skilled in Warehouse management interact with County Public Health personnel.
At a Partner RSS Warehouse, the health department would be taking responsibility for items that arrive for the duration of the event, managing inventory, and providing liaison functions with both the Warehouse staff and County staff. Together, both the Warehouse staff and County staff respond to the need to supply emergency medications and supplies throughout the County during a public health emergency.
Only in a large-scale, life-threatening public health emergency would the Local, State, and National health department recommend mass distribution of emergency medications to the public outside of the normal medical practice.
